Noah Cyrus to reimburse fans who paid towards by GoFundMe campaign for $12,000 ‘bottle of tears’

A joke gone wrong

Noah Cyrus will recompense people who contributed to an invalid fundraising campaign to help purchase a bottle of her tears.

The pop singer, who is the younger sister of Miley Cyrus, announced her new Good Cry EP yesterday (September 21). To promote it she listed a limited edition line of merchandise on Pizzaslime, including a $12,000 bottle of her tears following her break-up with rapper Lil Xan.

But, as TMZ reports, the artist and her team only intended for it to be a joke – see the description below:

This is approximately 12 tears made by Noah Cyrus as a result of sadness

Human digestion of these tears is not suggested cause tears are generally pretty salty and that would just be super fucking weird if you drank someone else’s tears

A fan going by the name ‘Sad Cyren’ created a GoFundMe campaign after hearing the news so that he could buy the tears.

The description read: “I LOVE NOAH CYRUS SO MUCH I NEED A BOTTLE OF HER TEARS BUT IT’s $12,000!!!!!!!!!!!!” the description read. “PLEASE HELP ME MAKE MY DREAM COME TRUE AND GET ME TO MY GOAL!!!!!!!!!! IT SAYS ON THE PIZZASLIME STORE THAT IT’S ONLY AVAILABLE FOR 48 HOURS SO PLEASE SHARE THIS SO I CAN GET TO THE GOAL AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!!!!!”

More than $1240 for the cause was raised in just 15 hours, including a donation from someone for $1000.

Cyrus and her team contacted GoFundMe, and the campaign is now closed. They’ve also offered to reimburse those who donated and give away backstage passes to Cyrus’ shows.

Earlier this month, Lil Xan denied that he broke up with Cyrus over a a Charlie Puth ‘porn meme’.

The pair, who collaborated on the song ‘Live or Die’, appeared together at the VMA’s in August before parting ways.
