The new album will be released on August 31
Troye Sivan has released another new song from his upcoming album, ‘Bloom’.
It follows four other releases from the album to date including ‘My My My!’, ‘The Good Side’, title track ‘Bloom’ and ‘Dance To This’ which features Ariana Grande.
Speaking about her duet with Sivan, Grande said on Twitter: “I’m so honoured to be on this with my dear friend and pop king @troyesivan.”
Speaking to NME earlier this year at the BRIT Awards, Sivan hinted that he was taking things in a ‘lighter’ direction on his upcoming album.
“I think my first single ‘My My My’ is a good indicator of where things are heading,” he told NME. “There’s a ‘lightness’ to the album that wasn’t on the last one. People can expect to have a really good time to the album. It’s about love.”
“I’m growing all the time and I write super-personally,” the singer said. “I just feel like I’m really happy, so it’s about that.”
Featuring brooding electro, synth and drone, ‘Animal’ is an atmospheric love song which Sivan described as an “epic, timeless love song.”
Sivan said: “Animal is one of my fave songs I’ve ever written. I wanted to make an epic, timeless love song about how whipped I am.” The singer also teased clips of the song being performed live.
Whilst no video has yet been released for the song, Sivan teased a clip from the video which appears to feature clips of Sivan with his boyfriend, model Jacob Bixenman. This is the last song to be released from the album before its release on August 31.
Ahead of the release of ‘Animal’ yesterday, (August 7) many of Sivan’s followers on social media used the hashtag #ThankYouTroye to celebrate the five year anniversary of Sivan coming out to his fans online. He wrote: “I’m the luckiest in the world to have you all…Thanks for a crazy journey so far.”
Sivan is due to tour North America in the autumn, beginning in Texas on September 21. ‘Bloom’ is released on August 31.
