The track is the first new, solo music the singer has released since her second album ‘Hopeless Fountain Kingdom’ was released last year
Halsey has shared the video for her latest single, ‘Without Me’. Watch it below now.
The pop star, who released the track earlier this month, teamed up with director Colin Tilley on the new clip, which sees her dealing with a toxic and volatile relationship.
In a press release, Halsey said: “Questioning your purpose and your effort in a relationship can be confusing and draining. But it’s important to self-reflect and know your worth and value. This record is about understanding your worth. It’s a very honest record.
“And it helped me prove to myself that I can still manifest my feelings into art after all this time. My music will always be the vehicle that carries my heart.”
‘Without Me’ is the first piece of new, solo music Halsey has released since her second album, ‘Hopeless Fountain Kingdom‘, arrived in June 2017. The singer has also been confirmed to perform the track at the MTV EMAs on Sunday (November 4).
Earlier this month, Halsey revealed Brendon Urie’s sweet response to her story about being bulled for listening to emo at school. Speaking to NME, she explained: “I remember having this wristband from the pit [at one of the shows], and Brendon Urie being on the edge of the stage and acknowledging me…so I wore that wristband every day. I even covered it with plastic when I showered so it wouldn’t fall off.”
Later, during an altercation with one of her bullies, the wristband broke, with the star describing herself as “devastated”. Years later, she shared the story with Urie. “I went back to my dressing room after [a show of mine he came to recently],” she said. “And there was a bouquet of flowers and two plastic Panic! At the Disco wristbands, with a little note that said: ‘This is to replace the one you lost.’”
